Anthropic Accuses Alibaba of Distilling Claude; Alibaba Bans Claude Code
RazzmatazzAccurate82 · reddit · 2026-07-06
Anthropic accuses Alibaba of creating tens of thousands of fake Claude accounts and stealing intellectual property via "distillation attacks." In response, Alibaba reportedly asked its employees to stop using Claude Code. Meanwhile, Reddit users report Claude becoming more wary of "strange" prompts. Another article says Anthropic's new model Fable 5 has been "hardened" against distillation attacks, but this security measure also inadvertently blocks some normal users from harmless requests, leaving many caught in the middle.
