One-Week Practical Review of Fable Max as Agent Orchestrator and Adversarial Reviewer

robleclerc · x · 2026-07-06

The author used Fable Max across two subscription accounts strictly for planning, orchestration, adversarial review, and judging, with all actual coding done by Codex. The three-week token budget was fully exhausted under target mode.

The author rates Fable Max as excellent but with clear limitations: it makes many mistakes that human developers wouldn't, just at a lower frequency. The workflow also introduced multi-round adversarial reviews (each run at ultra-high reasoning level) to improve output quality.
