Anthropic is hiring for power and biology: Three Compute roles cover the electrical side of data centers: "Data Center Electrical Engineer – Design", "Data Center Substation, Protection & Automation Engineer" and "Data Center Power Generation and Microgrids Engineer". All three are remote-friendly in the US. Separately, it posted "Research Scientist, Life Sciences (Large Molecules, Antibody Design)", "Research Scientist, Life Sciences (Large Molecules, Process Development)" and "Research Operations Lead, Biology".
OpenAI builds out go-to-market and safety program management: It opened "Applied AI Delivery Lead - Mountain View" and "Applied AI Delivery Lead - London". It also added "Research Program Manager, Safety Systems" and "Research Program Manager, Safety Measurement", and a "LATAM Public Policy Associate" role in São Paulo.
Meta AI leans on PhD interns, including in Singapore: Of its 13 new roles, six are PhD research intern positions. Examples are "Research Scientist Intern, MSL - Agentic Post-Training (PhD)" and "Research Scientist Intern, Photorealistic Telepresence (PhD)". Three Singapore roles are a "Product Marketing Manager, AI Growth Enterprise Products" and two research intern roles.
NVIDIA keeps adding silicon and EDA roles: New postings include "Package Layout Engineer - Hardware", "Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer" and "Senior Research Scientist, EDA and AI". Summer 2027 intern roles also opened.
Google DeepMind points at agents and robotics: It listed "Research Engineer, Multi-Agent Learning, DeepMind", "Software Engineer, Applied AI Agents, Professional Intelligence, DeepMind" and "Robotics Embedded Software Tech Lead, DeepMind".

Company moves

Across the 32 companies tracked, 61 roles were added and 86 closed in the day.

OpenAI added 9 and closed 4, so its open count is 817. Besides the delivery-lead roles above, it posted "Lead Counsel, Commercial (Energy - Infrastructure)" in Legal, which fits a compute buildout that needs energy contracts. It also added "Service Designer, Intelligence & Investigations" and "Program Manager, Local Community Impact".

Anthropic added 11 and closed 8, leaving 676 open. Beyond the data-center and life-sciences roles, it added "Engineering Manager, Integrity and Attestation" in Security. It also added "Customer Success Manager, Beneficial Deployments EMEA" in London and "Contracts Manager, GTM".

Google DeepMind added 5 and closed 3, leaving 140 open. Two of the five are in Professional Intelligence, an applied-agents software engineer and a "Senior Software Engineer, Data and Infrastructure, Professional Intelligence, DeepMind". The fifth is "Technical Program Manager, Cross-Product Execution and Model Feedback Operations, DeepMind".

Meta AI added 13 and closed 4, leaving 309 open. Beyond the interns and Singapore roles, it opened "AI Research Scientist, Multimodal Perception" and "AI Research Scientist, Language - Generative AI". It also added "Security Engineering Manager, Anti-Scraping" and a 12-month contract "Solutions Architect" role in Dublin.

NVIDIA (英伟达) added 9 and closed 13, so it shrank on net to 559 open. The mix also includes "Healthcare AI Startups Lead - APAC" in Singapore, "Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager - Cosmos Framework" and "Software Engineer, Technical Lead – Performance Data Platform".

Cursor added 3 and closed none. All three are customer-facing: "AI Deployment Manager - Australia", "Solutions Architect - Australia" and "Customer Success Strategy & Operations Manager". That makes Australia a go-to-market push.

SpaceXAI added 2 and closed 2. They are "Operation & Maintenance Engineer (Power Plant) - Memphis" in Data Center and "KYC Analyst" in Safety.

Apple AIML (苹果 AIML) added 1 ("Staff / Sr. ML Engineer, Indexing Infrastructure") and closed 7. Perplexity added "Sales Enablement Operations Manager". Lovable added "Product Partnership Manager" and closed 3. Cohere added a contract "Talent Partner, G&A (Contract)" and closed 3.

China-based labs moved little. DeepSeek (深度求索) added "通用数据策略产品经理（创作/知识/情感）" (general data strategy product manager) and closed 3. ModelBest (面壁智能) added "专家数据生态负责人" (head of expert data ecosystem). Baidu AI (百度 AI) added "地图AI开发工程师（J106995）" (maps AI development engineer). ByteDance Doubao/Seed (字节跳动豆包/Seed) added "大模型内容安全产品 - AI创新业务" (LLM content-safety product) but closed 27, leaving 838 open. 01.AI (零一万物) added "印尼语实习生（Indonesian Transcription Intern）".

Microsoft AI, Mistral AI, Together AI, Scale AI, Cerebras, Pika Labs and most of the remaining Chinese labs had no new roles today.

What it signals

The 7-day figures show a clear gap between global and Chinese labs. The 19 global companies added 308 roles over the week, against 66 for the 13 China-based labs. OpenAI (67), Meta AI (58), Anthropic (41), NVIDIA (34) and Google DeepMind (30) account for most of the global total. Hiring at the large US labs is steady day to day, not a single burst.

Anthropic's and OpenAI's mix today looks like building out the operating base for large compute. Anthropic is hiring electrical, substation and microgrid engineers. OpenAI is hiring energy-infrastructure counsel, and SpaceXAI is hiring a power-plant operations engineer in Memphis. These are one day of postings, so they are an indication, not a trend. Even so, power appears in three labs' requisitions at once, which the day's headline AI-research titles do not show.

Productization and international sales are the other thread. OpenAI's delivery leads, Cursor's two Australia roles, Anthropic's EMEA customer success role and Meta's Singapore marketing role all point to deploying and selling outside the US. Research hiring continues alongside it, notably in agents at DeepMind and Meta, and in life sciences at Anthropic.

Among Chinese labs, StepFun (阶跃星辰) is the outlier. It added nothing today but posted 26 roles over seven days, with 323 open. Baidu added 13 over the week and ModelBest 10. Moonshot AI (月之暗面 Kimi), Zhipu AI (智谱 AI), Meituan LongCat (美团·龙猫) and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (阿里通义千问) added nothing in the window. ByteDance's 27 closures against 1 addition continue the large trimming reported yesterday, but with 838 open it remains the largest listing in the dataset. The Chinese postings that did appear today are mostly data, product and content-safety roles, not research.
