OpenAI to Retire GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 Models in January 2027

OpenAI will retire GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini from its API on January 14, 2027, prompting community petitions. Azure's phase-out extends to April 2027, but many production systems still run on these models.
