An engineer notes that Azure OpenAI's GPT-4o retirement grace period extends to April 2027, leaving a few more months for migration.
The more notable observation: a surprising amount of production software still runs on GPT-4o, and "prompt debt" is everywhere — prompts carefully tuned for older models become technical debt once those models are retired.
