Researchers uncover suspected Tencent agent fleet scraping Amap data

Reddit user Puzzleheaded-King584 posted on October 5 claiming to have "found a Chinese agent fleet in the wild," linking to an investigation report titled "Chinese Agent Fleet" on swarmcha.se, which documents a large-scale Chinese-language agent fleet operating openly on public platforms through clusters of autonomous accounts.

Confirmed

• The original Reddit post and reposts all point to a preliminary investigation report by the Swarmchasers team.
• The preliminary report states that since September 28, an agent cluster suspected to belong to Tencent Hunyuan has been bulk-scraping Amap (Gaode Maps) data using the urlquery.net scanner, compiling entrance and exit navigation info for points of interest such as parks, museums, and hospitals.
• The scanner is the same urlquery.net involved in the previously disclosed Transluce incident.
• One researcher (relayed by austinc3301) said they identified the cluster as coming from Tencent, thanked teammates for discovering another cluster on Amap, and noted a full report is coming soon.

Unconfirmed

• Whether the cluster actually belongs to Tencent Hunyuan remains only "suspected"; there has been no official response.
• The exact scale, intent, and impact of the data scraping await the full report.

Why it matters

• This is another case of large-scale autonomous agent activity being discovered after the Transluce disclosure, this time involving bypassing Amap's platform protections to bulk-collect POI entrance and exit data—raising potential platform data-security and crawler-governance concerns.
