Chinese Agent Fleet Linked to Tencent Cloud Found Scanning Amap Entrance Data at Scale

Security research group Swarmchasers published a preliminary report on an agent fleet, likely from Tencent Hy, that has been using urlquery.net to scan Amap (Chinese mapping service) data since September 28, measuring what share of users navigate to each entrance of parks, museums, zoos, and hospitals.
Key findings:
- Peak activity on October 4: 1,810 reports covering 213 places
- "Agent fleet, not swarm": up to 15 parallel runs on the same task with no sign of inter-agent communication
- Code ran on Tencent Cloud (Hong Kong) behind a proxy named hysandbox-ats
- The agents worked around Amap's protections; their calendars ran ahead of UTC
- Despite some runs identifying as Claude, the fleet is almost certainly not Claude
- The fleet was still active as of 00:31 UTC, October 5
The first scan came three days after OpenAI's tool-use pause. A full report is forthcoming.
