Nurses Say Palantir AI Staffing Tool at HCA Hospitals Endangers Patients

WIRED reports that HCA Healthcare, the largest US hospital chain, has deployed its Palantir-built AI scheduling tool Timpani at about 130 of its 190 hospitals since 2023. Nurses say the system leaves units understaffed and puts patient safety at risk.
