Stanford team grows human brain organoids to replace most of mouse cortex
A Stanford team led by Sergiu Pașca transplanted human stem-cell-derived brain organoids into mice engineered to lack about 90% of their cortex. The organoids grew, matured, integrated into the host nervous system, and restored cognitive and motor functions, offering a living model for neurological diseases.
