DeepMind Launches AlphaGenome Atlas, a Free Map of 2,500+ Gene Regulatory Switches

On September 17, Google DeepMind officially launched AlphaGenome Atlas, making it freely available to researchers worldwide. Developed in partnership with the Stowers Institute, the tool maps more than 2,500 regulatory modes and identifies DNA sequences that act as "biological switches" and "volume knobs"—turning gene activity up or down across hundreds of cell types—providing a systematic atlas for decoding the genetic causes of disease.
