copy-clip: a copy button that folds your code into paper and clips it, built with vanilla JS
prasenx · x · 2026-11-09
Developer prasenx open-sourced copy-clip, a delightful copy-to-clipboard button that turns a code snippet into a sheet of paper, folds it in half, flies it over, and snaps it under a steel clip on a wooden clipboard — complete with sound effects.
- Built with plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript in a single file — no build step, no framework
- The clipboard, steel clip, and paper texture are all drawn with inline SVG and CSS
- All sounds are synthesized live via the Web Audio API, no audio files
- Uses the Clipboard API (navigator.clipboard.writeText) with a hidden textarea
- Includes a hands-free demo mode with a scripted cursor, stacking sheets, and looping animation
MIT-licensed, with a live demo available.
