Math arXiv growth driven by more submitters and more papers each, not a few hyperproductive authors
littmath · x · 2026-11-09
Mathematician littmath analyzes the surge in weekly math arXiv submissions for 2025-2026: the growth appears to come from a combination of more people submitting and more submissions per person — e.g. researchers who hadn't posted in years suddenly posting again — rather than a small cohort of hyperproductive authors spamming papers. He notes he's still looking for a way to verify this properly.
