Debt-laden Avid Collective pivots to GEO/AI visibility tools amid 18-month payment delays

Australian content and media partnership platform Avid Collective is betting big on AI visibility tracking (GEO/AEO). CEO Luke Spano says "demand for GEO is growing fast" and claims the company is "well placed" thanks to a platform that already connects publishers, content, and advertisers. Its new site pitches helping brands "get recommended by AI" via trusted publishers like independent reviews and trade titles.
But the author is skeptical: Avid's earlier software businesses Pubsuite and Collab underperformed, the company is nearly 18 months behind on payments to creditors, and Mumbrella reports it is renegotiating supplier terms while scaling back parts of the business. The pivot to selling GEO tooling in the Australian market is unlikely to save the company, the author argues.
