Atomarine Raises $19M Seed to Build Nuclear-Powered Floating Data Centers
ycombinator · x · 2026-11-09
YC-backed startup Atomarine announced a $19M seed round backed by Y Combinator, Pantera Capital, Soma Capital, 7SevenSix, Liquid2V, AudaciousHQ, and e14fund.
The company targets AI's core bottleneck — physical buildout — with floating data centers powered by nuclear energy, built on a single production line and anchored offshore. By moving offshore, it avoids competing with communities for water, power, and land without driving up local electricity bills, while scaling AI on nuclear instead of fossil fuels. A functional proof of concept is already built; the team is hiring naval architecture engineers.
