Tracking 100,000 engineers' careers over 10 years, a PageRank-style university ranking

Responding to the claim that university rankings are all flawed, the author tried a purer approach: tracking the career paths of 100,000 engineers over 10 years and ranking universities PageRank-style — by whether their graduates land at companies engineers compete hardest to join.
Stanford, MIT, and Harvard came out top 3, with a surprisingly large gap above everyone else. Brown ranked #6, and Waterloo performed unexpectedly well — the author argues the very best junior engineers often come from Waterloo, a school people sleep on.
