REA: open-source MCP server reverse engineers any app for your AI agent, 7.6K stars
Arindam_1729 · x · 2026-11-08
REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) is an open-source MCP server (7.6K+ stars, #1 GitHub Trending) that lets AI agents inspect how any app implements a feature — no source code needed. It covers native binaries (assembly, pseudocode, symbols), Electron apps (tracing across renderer, preload, IPC, main), plus JS apps, Android APKs, .NET assemblies, firmware, network captures and websites. Workflow: point your agent at a feature, REA digs up evidence, and the agent explains it or builds a similar feature in your project. Caveats: runtime inspection executes the target with your permissions; native analysis may need Ghidra/Hopper/IDA. Setup: npx rea-agents setup.
