Anthropic's new API credits expire in 30 days, devs call the policy predatory
arthurcolle · x · 2026-11-08
Developer arthurcolle reports that Anthropic now issues API credits with a 30-day TTL — last month's credits were simply deleted from accounts if unused within three weeks. He calls it predatory: credits are granted under a new policy that most API users may never hear about before they vanish. He has had to rework his harness logic to burn the monthly "free" API credits via a shell call before touching his Claude subscription quota.
