CrowdGPT Wants to Train an LLM Collaboratively—No Datacenter, Fully Open Data and Weights
Vxtzq1 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A Reddit user launched CrowdGPT, a project to train a 1B-parameter LLM collaboratively without datacenters or big budgets: anyone can train on their own PC and merge contributions into a global model, with 100% of training data and weights public and community-submitted data steering the project. The author is soliciting feedback on why people wouldn't contribute GPU time and how to make it accessible to non-developers. Site: crowdgpt.net; code on GitHub.
