ywza: Open-Source Windows Computer-Use Agent Built with Claude Code
Important_Earth6615 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A developer released ywza, an open-source framework letting AI models use Windows like a person — viewing windows, clicking, typing, running terminal commands — targeting automation of tools without APIs/MCP and testing desktop apps like Qt software.
Key design
- Token-efficient UI extraction: background agent enumerates UI elements by ID into numbered lists instead of constant screenshots
- Multi-window & virtual desktop support: AI works in isolated workspaces
- Peer-to-peer device pairing: 6-digit code pairing over public relays, no open ports or servers
- Flexible integration: CLI, built-in MCP server for Claude Code, or any OpenAI-compatible API including local models
Built with Claude Code; the demo screenshot shows it opening Notepad, writing Hello World, and moving the window across monitors. Repo and feedback request are public.
