Saccadia Remote ships a read-only MCP gateway to inspect desktops without giving agents control
Plasmicon · reddit · 2026-11-08
The developer of Saccadia Remote released an MCP gateway addressing a real pain point: let an agent read a remote test PC's screen to diagnose errors, while granting zero control.
Workflow: open a Saccadia session to a Windows or Linux test PC, run the local stdio gateway from your MCP client with MCP enabled on the viewer, then grant MCP access on the test PC while leaving remote control off. The agent calls listsessions and getsessionscreenshot to read dialogs from screenshots; keyboard, mouse, file transfer, and terminal access all require a separate remote-control permission, and MCP access can be revoked from the test PC mid-session.
The product is closed source but free for personal and commercial use, with the MCP guide and permission table in a public GitHub repo.
