Tesla to wind down Cybertruck production by mid-2027 as Musk doubles down on Cybercab
XFreeze · x · 2026-11-08
Elon Musk revealed two Cybercab updates: efficiency gains will let it use a 40 kWh battery pack, and a new Liquid Silver finish is coming.
The bigger news is resource allocation. Musk argued that talented engineers are scarce, and maintaining Cybertruck's complex production line and supply chain diverts resources Tesla needs to scale Cybercab. Tesla is therefore preparing to wind down Cybertruck production at Giga Texas around mid-2027 to make room for Cybercab expansion, betting heavily on it as the future of transportation.
