andreisavu · x · 2026-11-08
Parts 7-8 of the chess transformer thread detail corpus preparation and composition:
- Cleaning: replay validity checks, duplicate removal, holdout exclusion; opening-book moves stay in history but are excluded from policy targets.
- Scale: 26.7 million unique games and 2.26 billion eligible next-move targets per pass, mostly from strong human play with a smaller engine-sourced set.
