Observer: open-source fully local phone agent watches anything with 0.8B models
Roy3838 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A developer demoed Observer, an open-source, 100% local monitoring agent for iOS and Android that uses your phone's camera plus on-device small models to watch anything and trigger notifications.
Demo use cases: get a photo when someone approaches the car, a Telegram ping when a bird lands on the nest, a phone call when the washing machine hits the rinse cycle, a notice when the dog finishes eating, or a call when a gym machine frees up.
- Default models: OneJev-0.8b for decisions and qwen-0.8b for LLM watchers, runnable even on old phones;
- Free and open source, available on GitHub and both app stores.
