Dev builds 1TB RAM home rack, mulls open-sourcing DeepSeek-tuned inference engine
gnukeith · x · 2026-11-08
Indie developer gnukeith shared his home inference cluster progress: a new 12U rack with 4 Framework DeskPi RackMates, expanding in January toward a 1TB RAM goal, with plans to swap some desktops for Medusa Halo units later.
He's considering open-sourcing his inference engine but is unsure of its ecosystem value since it's tuned mainly for DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and his niche hardware setup. Full details promised for late November/early December, with infrastructure planning mapped out to 2029.
