Underdog's Woof voice model runs offline in a browser tab at just 31.7MB
dr_cintas · x · 2026-11-08
Underdog's new voice model Woof is small enough to run inside a browser tab: 31.7 MB for one voice, 40.6 MB for two.
- No server needed — once loaded it works fully offline; the author tested with the browser set offline
- The key differentiator is hard text: phone numbers, dates, prices and codes are where small voice models fall apart, and Woof runs everything through a text normalizer first
- Underdog's own numbers on 500 hard sentences: two-voice Woof scores 1.42% WER, one-voice 2.06%, versus Fish Audio Drama 3 at 1.89% with a 41.5 GB download
Roughly 1,000x smaller with comparable accuracy on their test (vendor-reported).
