OpsRecall: open-source incident responder gives AI agents long-term vector memory
Accomplished-Elk4195 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A team open-sourced OpsRecall, fixing the problem of AI incident responders starting from zero and hallucinating generic advice like "restart Nginx." The architecture explicitly splits application state from agent memory: MongoDB Atlas tracks incident state, while Hindsight Cloud (vector DB) holds institutional memory.
When an engineer pastes an error log, the API retrieves semantically similar past outages and hands them to the LLM (gpt-oss-20b via Groq), forcing it to cite the specific past incident and reuse its exact fix. Resolved incidents are written back synchronously, creating a continuous learning loop. A Compare Mode UI shows baseline vs. memory-informed responses side by side. Stack: React, Tailwind, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Groq, Hindsight.
