Chat-driven filmmaking with MiniMax H3: eight scene recipes and a continuity test
Eastern-Ad9515 · reddit · 2026-11-07
A Redditor built Filmworkbench, a MiniMax H3 filmmaking workflow driven through any chat-interface LLM harness (Claude Code, Codex, or a local LLM) with ComfyUI underneath, producing guided or fully autonomous short films.
Key points:
- Three modes: single clip, guided shooting with approvals, or bounded autonomous film tasks; images and clips preview inside the chat interface, no separate GUI.
- Eight composable scene recipes (reverse angles, prop changes, establishing shots, spacecraft exterior/cockpit, creature emerging, marketplace continuity test), maintaining character/world consistency for about 10 successive clips before a hard cut.
- Pipeline: GPT Images or Krea2 for frames → H3 for video → latent upscale.
Open problems: drift accumulates in longer chains, background people and props change, and autonomous films still lack story judgment. The demo video was fully autonomous via Codex but imperfect. The repo is still private ahead of a v0.1 release.
