The 5-customer test: turn your 10-second experience into one artifact
petesena · x · 2026-11-07
Pete Sena shares a product validation playbook: write down the experience a customer should feel in the first 10 seconds, compress it into one artifact (a mock, a one-pager, or a 30-second demo), then show it to five customers and ask one question — "Do you want this?"
In the follow-up he quotes a speaker owning the mistake — "I made this mistake more than anybody in this room, and I've got the scar tissue to prove it" — noting Apple's new strategy started from "What incredible benefits can we give to the customer?"
