X Algorithm Update: Likes Weight Up to 0.708, AI Replies on Big Accounts May Be Flagged as LLM Slop
ThePeterMick · x · 2026-11-07
X updated its open-source recommendation algorithm on Nov 5, the first change in three weeks. Key weight shifts:
- Time spent on a post: 0.006 → 0.0075, also up
- Tapping into a post: 0.3 → 0.274, down
- Opening a video: 0.02 → 0, zeroed out
A new rule also flags AI replies under big accounts as "llm slop", potentially keeping them out of the recipient's notifications.
Takeaway: a tap is no longer the win — engagement that keeps readers on the post until they like it now matters most.
