Fincantieri and Generative Bionics develop humanoid welding robot for shipyards
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-11-07
Shipbuilding giant Fincantieri is partnering with Italian robotics firm Generative Bionics on a shipyard-specific humanoid welder, an optimized version of the GENE series. It pairs AI with vision systems for real-time weld quality monitoring, moves through confined hull spaces, and is designed to collaborate with—not replace—human workers under a 4-year plan.
