RevealLayer ComfyUI node brings occlusion-aware image layer decomposition
TBG______ · reddit · 2026-11-07
TBG released a ComfyUI custom node implementing RevealLayer, which decomposes a flat image into multiple RGBA layers with occlusion-aware reconstruction.
- Motivated by mixed results with Qwen-Image-Layered (slow, temperamental, quality loss in their workflows)
- Compares three approaches: Qwen-Image-Layered (automatic, variable layer stacks), CLD (bounding-box control), and RevealLayer (bounding-box guidance plus occlusion-aware diffusion)
- In their demo, a camera occluding a stack of books becomes its own layer while the model estimates the hidden book content (generative reconstruction, not original pixels)
