Developer apekshik released Backroom: Dimension 9, a browser-playable infinite, self-evolving Backrooms game that noahsolomon calls "genuinely one of the coolest game experiences I've seen, AI or not."
The core mechanic: Claude Opus follows a haunting directive written into the game, driving a sentient in-game AI that builds new rooms, characters, entities, and experiences forever. "Coolest part is even as the creator of this game, I don't know what to expect in there."
Multiplayer with proximity chat shipped from day one, alongside flashlight, scanner, map, and noclip-to-next-anomaly mechanics.
