X algorithm update: likes weight hits 0.708, AI replies flagged as 'llm slop'
ThePeterMick · x · 2026-11-07
Dev ThePeterMick, who audits X's open-source algorithm daily with Claude, flagged the Nov 5 update (first in 3 weeks): likes weight rose 0.66→0.708 (all-time high), time spent 0.006→0.0075 (nearly doubled in a month), tap-ins dropped 0.3→0.274, opening a video 0.02→0. New ranking guesses track video watch time and profile dwell time. New rule: replies under 250K+ follower accounts can be AI-flagged as "llm slop" for 14–30 days, and flagged replies/mentions no longer reach notifications unless followed; grey-badge and highly credible accounts are exempt. The first-2-hours/200-views new-post push is unchanged. Takeaway: a tap isn't the win anymore—staying and liking counts.
