Google open-sources Elephant-Goldfish plugin engineers use to keep AI code honest
dr_cintas · x · 2026-11-07
Google open-sourced its Elephant-Goldfish Model (EGM), the plugin thousands of Google engineers use daily: no code until the plan holds up, and no AI grading its own work.
- Elephant: one long-running session that remembers everything, writes no code, questions you and keeps the record
- Goldfish: fresh zero-context sessions that stress-test the spec without inheriting the Elephant's blind spots
Flow: brainstorm (no code allowed) → draft a Markdown design doc → a Goldfish explains the design back, redraft if wrong → hostile Goldfish reviewers hunt edge cases → a final Goldfish makes the go/no-go call.
Works with Antigravity CLI, Claude Code and Codex; Apache-2.0 licensed.
