TechSEO Connect talk: write SOPs as skills and use small commits when vibe coding
lilyraynyc · x · 2026-11-07
At TechSEO Connect, Lily Ray shared vibe-coding practices (slides attached):
Context management — four places your instructions can live:
- CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md = "onboarding doc": project commands and standing rules, keep under 200 lines
- Skills = "SOP binder": specific tasks or processes
- Path-scoped rules (.claude/rules/) = "special notes": client or project specifics
- Hooks = "access rules": automated checks like blocking edits to env
Git habits that make every change reversible: small commits (easy to undo and locate changes), always use .gitignore (never commit secrets/data/caches), new idea = new branch, and write meaningful commit messages ("add retry logic to GSC fetch", not "fix").
