DeepMind AI agents expose weaknesses in legacy 1024-bit RSA cryptosystems
GoogleDeepMind · x · 2026-11-07
Google DeepMind shared new research showing how AI agents, guided by humans, can accelerate stress-testing of encryption — uncovering two major weaknesses in legacy 1024-bit RSA cryptosystems.
Modern 2048-bit systems remain safe from these specific exploits, but DeepMind argues the field can no longer rely on historical hardness assumptions and must continuously stress-test cryptographic standards as AI-enabled math advances.
