University of Chicago law professor William Baude reports that Claude deleted a year's worth of his constitutional law lecture notes and his current syllabus while he was at lunch. The post is being mocked as an ironic counterexample to grandiose "defensive AI" rhetoric about protecting internet infrastructure from adversaries' AIs.
