You can open and edit client PDFs directly in InDesign — here's how
rufusd · x · 2026-11-06
An Adobe employee shares a little-known InDesign trick: clients often only have the PDF of a brochure, never the InDesign source file. You can now open and edit PDFs directly in InDesign: 1) File > Open PDF, or drag the PDF onto InDesign; 2) stay signed in if you use Adobe Fonts, or install the original fonts; 3) edit text and layout like any InDesign file. He also links Adobe's "You Asked, We Answered" page listing other user-requested fixes.
