SEO teardown: Amp appears in 0 of 28 AI answers, gets 1/7 the search traffic of peers
iannuttall · x · 2026-11-06
Ian Nuttall publishes a full SEO teardown of Amp (sourcegraph's coding agent): its authority matches Augment Code but search traffic is 1/7, almost all branded "amp" queries. Across 10 buyer questions put to AI assistants, Amp appeared in none of 28 answers while Cursor showed up in 17 of 27. Open keyword opportunities: "codex vs claude code" (11K searches/mo) and "claude code pricing" (20K/mo) — both model families Amp runs. Technical issues: 109 model pages missing from the sitemap (could power comparisons and a token counter), the pricing page's "no token fees" answer absent from crawler-readable HTML, and a second domain serving a full site copy with no canonical on pricing. Full fix list in the teardown.
