Thesis conference review: short talks, engineered serendipity, frontier speakers
jdjohnson · x · 2026-11-06
jdjohnson attended Every's Thesis conference and rated it phenomenally well done, citing six strengths:
- Short sessions that forced speakers to distill their messages
- Intentional connection: lobby energy and lunch seating designed for serendipitous networking
- Frontier problems: every speaker seemed at least a year ahead of the rest of the world
- Practical & applied content — what a software factory is, how companies are actually adopting AI and where they fail
- Little pleasures: great coffee, food, and staff
- Carefully crafted design that supported the whole experience
He recommends attending if it runs again next year.
