Floci: open-source local AWS emulator runs 120+ services in 24ms, free LocalStack alternative
thisguyknowsai · x · 2026-11-06
Floci (v2.4.0, MIT, 31k stars) is a free open-source local AWS emulator: point your code at localhost:4566 and it speaks AWS. It supports 120+ services, the AWS CLI/SDKs, Terraform and CDK, runs heavy services in real Docker containers (RDS spins up actual PostgreSQL/MySQL), works in CI, and starts in 24ms per its own benchmark vs 3.3s for LocalStack's free tier. Sibling emulators cover Azure, GCP and OCI.
