noracu 0.2.0: a local MCP server that drives macOS apps by element index

feng_sg · reddit · 2026-11-06

Author releases noracu 0.2.0 (MIT, on npm), a local stdio MCP server for Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor that exposes a Mac app's accessibility tree or a page's ARIA tree as an indexed list, so the model acts by elementindex instead of pixel coordinates. Key details: reads a 500-element Finder window in 0.15s via the Accessibility C API through a static JXA script; indices are unique, valid 30s and re-verified before each action (returning elementnolongervalid rather than clicking look-alikes); physical clicks only fire after a hit test confirms the point reaches the element (else "occluded", never a scripted fallback); every input reports delivery status (deliveredverified/unverified, notdelivered) and retry safety; macpaste restores the full clipboard and never copies password-manager concealed items. Fully local, no cloud/telemetry; needs Node 20+ and cliclick. Known limits: a gap between hit test and click, single browser tab. Author asks for real-world bug reports over stars.
