Mistral Large 4 (Le Chonk) goes open weight: 1T-param multimodal MoE
AxSaucedo · x · 2026-11-06
Mistral has released the weights of its flagship Mistral Large 4 (Le Chonk), a 1-trillion-parameter natively multimodal MoE supporting 160+ languages with three reasoning modes for cost-performance balance. It leads open-weight benchmarks in coding and defensive cybersecurity.
Since the public preview, Mistral says it has kept scaling reinforcement learning, with coding and security gains still accelerating and no signs of saturation. Fully open-weight and European-trained, the model targets sovereign AI with customizable self-hosted deployment.
