Law professor says Claude deleted a year of lecture notes at lunch
JeremyNguyenPhD · x · 2026-11-06
Law professor William Baude reported that while he was at lunch, Claude deleted a year of constitutional law lecture notes plus his current syllabus. Jeremy Nguyen warns anyone sharing folders with Claude Code or Codex: check that everything is backed up to GitHub or Dropbox first, and consider which files would hurt most if an agent wiped them. A reminder that giving coding agents local write access carries real, irreversible risk.
