Boom founder: only ~5 of 165 staff work on supersonic jet as energy comes first

Boom Supersonic founder Blake Scholl clarified that the company is deliberately doing energy first, then supersonic — running the engine on the ground to generate gigawatts and revenue before returning to build the Overture airliner.
Only 5 of 165 employees currently work on the airplane. This may delay Overture by a year or two but greatly raises the odds it actually happens — Scholl cites United's CEO giving it 50/50 odds, which he calls a historic first for any practical supersonic airliner effort.
