AI's future is a choice, not inevitability: pushing back on AI-rights fatalism
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-11-06
Ruxandra Teslo argues that the assumption in AI circles that 'whatever is possible is mandatory'—including the idea that AIs will inevitably gain full property rights or that humans will end up subservient—is self-fulfilling hyperstition rather than destiny. Since AI is deeply shaped by language and human design, she contends we can and should actively choose the shape of the AIs we build instead of yielding our values to a presumed inevitable future.
