Teknium pushes back on METR's 'no bottlenecks' claim, citing funding and compute cost inflation
Teknium · x · 2026-11-06
Open-models developer Teknium publicly disputed METR's conclusion that no significant bottlenecks will hit within 12 months, arguing AI labs can no longer raise money at the same pace and that compute/RAM cost inflation is severe. The objection targets economic bottlenecks (funding supply, hardware costs) outside the technical scope (algorithms, compute, data) METR assessed.
