Anthropic engineer confirms he's officially building Claude Code Desktop

Max Leiter, an engineer at Anthropic, announced he's now officially working on Claude Code Desktop and asked the community for feedback. He quoted a take saying the Claude Code desktop app "surpassed the Codex desktop app a long time ago," implicitly endorsing it. Desktop GUIs are becoming the new battleground for AI coding tools beyond the CLI.
