AnkaReuel · x · 2026-11-06
AI eval company Vals AI announced its first-ever hackathon, VALS Hacks, where "benchmaxxing is the point" for one weekend, backed by Claude, OpenAI, and Thinking Machines.
- Track 1: Post-train a small model — use Thinking Machines' Tinker to climb the Vals benchmark leaderboards
- Track 2: Build your own eval — create a new eval that frontier models still can't solve
Vals provides compute, benchmarks, food, and prizes. The event runs Saturday November 14 – Sunday November 15, 2026 in San Francisco; signups are open.
