Airbnb says in its Q3 2026 shareholder letter that it will roll out an AI agent in H1 2027 to help users plan and book travel. The company argues today's agents only handle simple routine tasks like reservations, while trip planning is different—its edge lies in host-guest matching, being embedded in bookings already, and a new interface built specifically for travel rather than a traditional chatbot.
